Prosecutors say a police officer fired his gun while clearing protesters from Hamilton Hall, a building at Columbia University, late Tuesday night. No one was injured, but this incident is now under review.

More than 2,000 people have now been arrested at anti-war campus protests since mid-April. Chaotic clashes between police and protesters have resulted in violence serious enough to prompt President Joe Biden to break his silence on the situation. “Violent protest is not protected, peaceful protest is. It's against the law when violence occurs,” stated President Biden.
