The 240-metre television tower in Ukraine's city of Kharkiv broke in half and fell to the ground after what local officials said was a Russian airstrike. Footage showed the main mast of the tower breaking off and falling down amid a cloud of smoke. Russia first attacked Kharkiv's television tower in early March, 2022 soon after its full-scale invasion. Volodymyr Zelenskiy said the strike was part of a deliberate effort by Moscow to make Ukraine’s second largest city uninhabitable.
