"Sequencing" is a goal that we often see on IEPs for children with language delays. But why is this skill so hard?? Well, a lot goes into it! In order to practice sequencing a child must understand the steps that make up an activity, be able to put those steps in order, and then have the language skills to tell you those steps back (in order, still!) using words like "first", "next", and "last".
