The post-June 1 designation on Arik Armstead's release means the 49ers will save $18 million in cap space this year. He will count $10.3 million in dead money this year and another $15.5 million in dead money on the team's 2025 salary cap.

With Armstead gone, the last connection to the Trent Baalke era is no longer on the roster.

The longest-tenured 49ers player is now Kyle Juszczyk (joined in March 2017), followed by George Kittle (joined in May 2017).
