A huge fire has broken out at a fuel and energy facility in Russia's Smolensk region, which the governor of the western region said happened after a drone attack launched by Ukraine.

Satellite images provided by Nasa's fire monitor confirm that two fires broke out in the area of the oil depot near the village of Yartsevo.

Ukraine's national security service said the drone struck two Russian state-owned oil depots in the western region.
