What Jesus chooses to do for his first miracle may be a little surprising if you aren’t familiar with the story. Making the blind see, raising someone from the dead, healing someone’s sickness—these are probably more likely miracles if we were to guess. In John 2, Jesus is just beginning his public ministry and while at a wedding in Cana, the wedding master calls upon Jesus to fix their problem…they had run out of wine for the guests. In an effort to save the hosts from humiliation and to foreshadow the purification that his own impending death would satisfy, Jesus turns six purification jars of water into wine. In this message, Pastor Brian Stebbins from Family Church Gardens encourages TKA students with three truths from this scripture: 1) Jesus cares about the little things, 2) Jesus gives in abundance, and 3) Jesus changes everything. We can learn a lot from Jesus’ first miracle, and we can ask ourselves, “Do I truly believe that God cares for even the smallest concerns of my life?”
