Wookey Hole is an attraction located in the village of Wookey Hole on the southern edge of the Mendip Hills near Wells in Somerset, England.

Wookey Hole is home to the Wookey Hole Caves which are a series of limestone caverns. Guests can explore the legendary Wookey Hole Caves, a fascinating journey through underground chambers adorned with stunning rock formations. The Wookey Hole Caves feature majestic stalactites and stalagmites that have been formed over thousands of years with intriguing legends and stories associated with these incredible caves.

Wookey Hole also offers many other attractions and activities to enjoy, including museums, where you can delve into the area's fascinating history and heritage, a 4D Cinema, Wookey Hole Circus, soft play areas, adventure gold, and the Enchanted Valley, once home to Hyenas, now full of other surprises!

The Wookey Hole Caves are the largest show caves in England. The Wookey Hole Caves first began to form when rainwater percolated through the porous, sedimentary rock of the Mendip Hills. This process slowly began to create the chambers of the caves. Eight of these can be seen on the tour of the Wookey Hole caves. Wookey Hole caves contain many more chambers, only a few of which have been explored fully.

The Wookey Hole Caves consist of chambers each with their own stories and legends. The Witch's Kitchen, the Great Hall, the Witch's Parlour, the Cathedral Chamber, Chamber 20, and Cave Aged Cheddar, chees made by Ford Farm Cheesemakers and placed 200 feet underground to mature.

The Wookey Hole Caves have been used for filming of episodes of the BBC TV series Doctor Who: the serial Revenge of the Cybermen (1975) starring Tom Baker. The cave was also used in the filming of the British series Blake's 7 (1978) and Robin of Sherwood (1983). The caves were used again for the Doctor Who episode The End of Time (2009), including a scene with the Doctor sharing thoughts and visions with the Ood.
