Vasudev remembers that Ashwathama has decided to kill the child that Uttara is carrying. Ashwathama directs his Brahmastra at Uttara’s womb. Uttara’s child dies due to the harmful effects of the weapon. Krishna revives the dead child of Uttara and names him Parikshit.

वासुदेव याद करते हैं कि अश्वत्थामा ने उस बच्चे को मारने का फैसला किया है जिसे उत्तरा ले जा रहा है। अश्वत्थामा अपने ब्रह्मास्त्र को उत्तरा के गर्भ में निर्देशित करता है। उत्तरा का बच्चा शस्त्र के हानिकारक प्रभाव से मर जाता है। कृष्ण उत्तरा के मृत बच्चे को पुनर्जीवित करते हैं और उसका नाम परीक्षित रखते हैं।
