On June 19, Bridget Perez was transported to have a double-lung transplant after spending almost three months (March 25 admitted) in the hospital on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) therapy, a machine to support heart and lung function. During her long stay, her nurses planned a high school graduation ceremony for her daughter, Jaszmon Perez, so she wouldn’t miss it.
