Columbia University Suspends Students, Refuses to Divest from Israel | Firstpost America
Columbia University has begun suspending protesting students after University President Nemat Shafik issued orders to the students to vacate college grounds or face action. Meanwhile, students are saying that they will not leave the University until Columbia agrees to divest its finances from Israel. Columbia’s President says that funds will not be divested from Israel, instead the university will invest in health and education in Gaza. Meanwhile, police officials have started arresting protesting students from other campuses across the United States. The protests that first started at Columbia University have now spread like wildfire across Canada, Australia, and Europe. Meanwhile, Police authorities in America say they have arrested over 1000 students activists and protesters from college campuses.
