Speedrunning breeds competition. Friendly feuds are forged throughout all of speedrun history over trying to beat a certain time. We’ve seen this play out time and time again. Collaboration often takes a backseat to competition. Which makes the story of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger all the more remarkable.
Of the many popular platforming games that came out in the late 90s and early 2000s, Ty is not one of them. However, the small community of Ty runners saw the game not for what it was, but what it could be. They all worked together to make it the run it is today. They did it for the love of the game. They held out hope that their faith would be rewarded with a great speedrun. Were they right? Welcome to Speed Docs.
