Neil Peart Solo - Rush - Hershey PA - 4/8/2011 - HD 720p 9mins - HiRes Audio - 12x Optical Zoom

I extracted Neil Peart's drum solo and drum fill from Tom Sawyer.

I will do this for each of my Rush shows. I have created a Neil Peart Playlist.

What makes this recording special is that I had a great vantage point to video Neil that night. I was able to look directly though the opening in his drum kit. I basically had a clear torso shot the entire night. In hindsight, I wish I had focused more on Neil.

Source video was shot with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS6. HD 1280x720 30 frames per second. The camera lens is a 12x optical zoom (25-300mm).

The audio was EQ'd from the Panasonic camera audio. Due to security concerns, I did not take my Hi-Res Audio Recorder and external mics. I did run into an issue with my audio recording. It contained way too much bass. I EQ'd the audio to lower the bass. I am still not entirely happy with the results. But it is an improvement over the camera audio and untouched Hi-Res audio.

This was one of the first events that I had video recording equipment worthy of recording extended parts of a concert.
