Here’s The Story:
i messaged my friends on a Tuesday, february this year. I said: „lets shoot a liveset in Switzerland this weekend“.
they hated me. no preparation at all: means no car, 0$ budget, no equipment. but they said „Yes“. I literally had to „express buy“ a dj player & keyboard and ship it to his address in hope that it arrives on time. but we had the ambition to shoot it with drone shots and 3 difference camera angles. we didn’t had the money to buy a generator. It was -10°C which is 14°F. So my laptop battery will probably die after 15 min. we decided to buy a big ass power bank. we had a bluetooth box as a speaker, like the small ones. and thats it.
we got the car from his mom and drove to Switzerland (8 hours drive), hoping to find a good spot to shoot & where nobody could interrupt the set. The way from the parking lot to the location was a 30 minute walk - each. through the snow. The snow was going up to our knees. had to do this way 3 times to have all the equipment there. my toes were about to die, no exaggeration.

I performed, everything went well but my my laptop died after 30 min. the power bank died after 10 min. and my laptop couldn’t handle it either.

PLAN B:

we dont have enough footage from the winterset. Alright, fuck it. Lets fly out to Portugal and shoot a second liveset. same circumstances. we arrived in Portugal and didn’t know a location that could be cool to shoot at. since nobody of us had the money, we rented this shitty fiat 500. We asked a coffeeshop if we can have their tables to place the dj player and laptop. She said No…but she asked for my artist name. Next day: HER DAUGHTER KNEW MY MUSIC. YES. Take Me Home was one of her favorite songs. because of that, she gave us the tables for the set. Next problem. The Fiat was too small. We had to leave tons of equipment in the airbnb. We arrived at this insanely beautiful cliff and the view was stunning. Due to some reasons I can’t tell, we had to stop the set after 25 min. Two livesets and both of them couldn’t be fully played. but that was brilliant. we took all the footage we got from both locations and put it into one liveset. Like two different locations in one set - fire 🔥
