Fred Meyer & Safeway have been looking to merge for a few months now, but the government is stepping in and saying, “hmmmm… maybe you better not.” The concern is that if they don’t compete with each other, they can raise prices, and we’ll end up paying more. Aren’t they gonna do that anyway? Stop the merger, sure, but don’t clap for yourself.

Also, this bill just passed the Oregon Senate. If a political campaign uses AI in their campaign ad, they have to say that they did that. Oooooo. You fixed it, Oregon. Now surely disinformation is a thing of the past now that they have to admit it. It’s a good idea, but… y’know. We’re headed for a whole new world anyway.

And finally, groundbreaking poll results just released (I’m using a lot of sarcasm today) saying that local residents don’t like the idea of Tollbooths on our highways. Guess where they don’t like it the most… Clackamas Co… y’know, the place where they’re gonna put a tollbooth. Just don’t ask! I don’t ask my kids, “you guys want to go get flu shots?” You just do it.
