This video describes a design methodology for the configuration of deployable flat arches composed of straight scissors modules.

For the testing of the method and analysis of its constructive viability, a modular pavilion was designed, a dining outdoor in the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The pavilion occupies an area of 15 m², is composed of four deployable arches that make up a barrel vault, with a free height of 2.30 mts. The structure in wood, previously assembled, is erected in an afternoon with the participation of architectural students who learn in practice the different processes of fabrication, assembly and real behavior of this type of structure.
