Wednesday was an active severe weather day with widespread wind damage (70+ mph winds), trees and power lines down, and even one tornado warning across the Charlotte viewing area.

Now, we prepare for round number two of severe weather which arrives early Thursday morning.

Thursday Morning

The atmosphere remains primed for another round of severe storms with a squall line approaching from the northwest early Thursday. Even though the line will weaken slightly before it arrives, there is enough CAPE (thunderstorm fuel) and shear (rotation) for a supercell or two.
