12 Fractures has such a dark, deep meaning behind it, so it wasn’t easy to make into a music video. We knew the story had to be simple, powerful, and tragic, just like the lyrics. It all started with Chloe breathing life into her character. Once we had that critical piece of the puzzle, everything else began to fall into place.
We phoned @brandonrike while on tour in South America because we couldn’t think of an ending to the video. We knew it had to be something big and worth waiting for. “Does a piano fall on us? Does an airplane fall out of the sky?” We kept reminding ourselves of the story and how much these two characters hurt each other throughout the song. That’s when we unlocked our fatal, Shakespearean ending.
We called our director Marc in a frantic rush with our idea. Excited and stumbling over our words, we tried to explain the concept over the phone. Marc took our skeleton of a concept and knew precisely how to execute it.
Thank you, @chloemoriondo , for blessing and elevating this song, our director @marcklasfeld for making the process so easy and memorable, the crew, and all extras in the video for spending the day working with us to make this video come to life. We’re so proud of what we’ve created together. Enjoy the BTS ❤️🔪

LYRICS
Tell me, if I were to smile now
In the dead of the dark, would it even exist
Or is it hard to tell
You treat me like a cheap motel sometimes
But nevertheless, I was prepared to die
For that thing in your chest
Fuck your money
I fantasize about those nights you held me down
And sewed your lips to mine
Now I miss that pain sometimes
In this so-called life
There were shortcuts into heaven through your eyes
We emptied our wrists on the dotted line
Now I stay on my side of the city
A refugee, no MTV
Oh well, thank God for THC
Now I miss that pain sometimes
In this so-called life
There were shortcuts into heaven through your eyes
Now I miss that pain sometimes
In this so-called life
There were shortcuts into heaven through your eyes
Am I the taste that you watered down
Or am I the dust on your candy
You washed me off, then spit me out
Once I lost taste inside your mouth
