Lieutenant Suraj Dutt (Akshay Kumar), a brave and dedicated soldier in the Indian Army, thwarts an illegal arms deal on the border. Returning home on leave, he meets Alka (Ashwini Bhave) and they fall deeply in love. They marry quickly, but their happiness is short-lived. Soon after, Suraj is called away for a year-long mission.

Tragedy strikes when news arrives that Suraj is missing in action, presumed dead. Heartbroken, Alka and Suraj's family grapple with their grief. However, unbeknownst to them, Suraj is not dead. He has been captured and held prisoner.

Meanwhile, Alka tries to move on with her life, finding solace in the support of Suraj's sister, Minni (Farheen). However, their world is rocked again when Minni's arranged marriage falls apart due to unforeseen circumstances.

As Alka prepares to support Minni through a new relationship, a twist of fate brings Suraj back into their lives. He escapes captivity and fights his way back to his family, determined to reunite with his loved ones.

Sainik is a 1993 action drama that explores the sacrifices made by soldiers and the unwavering strength of family and love in the face of adversity.
