Heavy rains that began last week have caused widespread flooding in southern Brazil, leaving hundreds of towns underwater. Efforts continue to rescue people stranded by floods in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, as more rain is forecast for the region into next week. The toll climbed to at least 90, with more than 130 people still missing. According to local authorities, this massive flood displaced more than 155,000 people and affected an estimated 1.3 million.
