The mantra-filled meditative masterpiece by Mos Def, “Umi Says,” part of Drea d’Nur’s headlining set at the monthly Mid-Week Vibe, usually held at Babeville. A beacon in the beloved community in Buffalo and beyond, this was Drea’s first live performance locally in some two years, backed by mainstays Rod Bonner on keyboards and Chuck Brown on bass along with Mid-Week Vibe cohost Daniel Powell on drums.

As she does consistently with purpose, poise and presence, Drea mesmerized the sold-out crowd with a message of love and solidarity through a mix of her own songs along with favorites by Lauren Hill, Erykah Badu, Bob & Damian Marley and more.
