During the final battle sequences, they decided to splash a bit of red and blue into Venom’s appearance, and this is to tie it in more to the Spider-Man: Animated Series where his design had red and blue highlights. Also, one of the biggest hurdles the effects team had was actually Riot’s eyes. The effects team mentions that when a symbiote takes over a host, their eyes change to reflect which symbiote present, and Riot’s had to be a sort of gunmetal grey without seeming empty. THey put the finest sparkle of silver in them to represent life.
