This is part one of two on what I think of Shadow of the Colossus and how I believe it is often misunderstood. Part one focuses on an alternative look at the narrative compared to most other players and part two will focus on the fanbases' tendency to overanalyze and misinterpret the game.

Shadow of the Colossus was created and directed by Fumito Ueda and has since had a legacy not just within the medium of video games, but also one with fans that has taken a life of it's own.
