Dog training is something that we created out of our minds, and we are placing this idea onto our dogs. If you stop and think about it, dogs do not truly understand why we tell them to sit, down, heel, or place because they simply do not think or communicate in this way. It is an illusion that there is understanding between us and them. If we want to communicate effectively with our dogs, we must understand and communicate with them from their perspective.

Dog training is like going to Mexico as an American and demanding they speak English and do things the American way. I prefer to learn about their language, their culture, and step into that.
