This is a rendition of Raga Jaijaivanti by Padma Vibhushan Gangubai Hangal. She was especially admired for her performances of songs of the khayal genre over the course of a career that spanned nearly seven decades. Raga Jaijaivanti is a very sweet and touching Raag that has a very wide public appeal. However it is a very complex Raag. There are several combinations that give flashes of various other Ragas.
