May 4, 2012: This morning we noticed a young eaglet having problems in the nest. He seemed to be trapped and was struggling to get up. His worried parents were unable to help him. USFWS granted a permit for a rescue, and an experienced tree climber climbed 70 feet to the nest and freed the eaglet. A quick body check resulted in the eaglet being removed from the nest, to be examined at a wildlife hospital.

Sadly, on April 30, the other eaglet fell from the nest and died.
