Naviin Gandharv is the son of well-known Indian classical musician Pandit Babulal Gandharv - the pioneer who created an incredible fusion of the sarangi and violin called Belabahar in 1980. As a child, Naviin was always musically inclined because of his upbringing and had an inclination towards the tabla. On the behest of his mother and to continue the family's name, Naviin started to play the belabahar. At first, he just used to play the basic notes of Saregama but with consistently practising he mastered the art of playing the belabahar with such ease that even his mother had proud words for her son. Naviin hopes to continue his family's legacy, especially his father's Pandit Babulal Gandharv and spread Indian classical music across the world.
