Metal Tape Art - Mixed Media Techniques, Episode 026 of Mixed Media Soul Sparks

Use copper, brass, and aluminum tapes to create your own unique metallic elements and design your own collage papers. Shop the home supply stores for aluminum and other metal tapes. Use embossing plates or found textures to create patterns onto the tape and then you can use them as they are or color using acrylic inks.

SUPPLIES
Aluminum tape for ventilation ducts - found at builder's supply
Copper or Brass tape - found in crafts stores
Embossing plates - found in craft stores (you can try embossing onto any textured or patterned surface)
Soft brayer or key card
Acrylic inks (I am using inks from Daler Rowney green and Holbein special brown)
I also use a piece of mixed media paper or watercolor paper painted black. Use black gesso for a matte effect which contrasts nicely with the shine of the metal.
