Women’s College basketball is seeing an explosion in popularity due to the Caitlin Clark effect and how competitive the game has become over the past few seasons. But how did this all come to be? Well, to find out the answer to that question, we need to go all the way back to the late 2000s and mid-2010s and look at the dominant run the UConn Husky would proceed to go on. I believe UConn Women’s Basketball is the reason for the surge in popularity because it forced schools to invest more money in their programs and provide more resources.
