Raptor Resource Project Update on DN18: "The eaglet (DN18) cleared the line some time last night and it is no longer hanging from his or her mouth. The North nest is not easy to get into and entering it while the eaglets are in it puts them at risk. We have canceled our plans to get DN18 from the nest, but are still watching closely. Our camera operators report that the little eaglet has been busy today playing with sticks, cuddle puddling, warbling, eating, and PS’ing all over DNF."

This is good news & hopefully DN18 will not need to be taken from the nest!

The footage opens with Mr North bringing in a small fish - DN18 takes it but DN17 takes it from 18 but can't swallow it....yet. Dad will feed a little to 17 and 18 gets a bite before DN17 grabs the fish and in a big gulp swallows it whole! Well done DN17! Mr North is on the nest and tries to shelter the eaglets from the rain and wind but they are so big now and could only fit their heads underneath his feathers. The eaglets are soaking wet and a bit cold but they can thermoregulate at this age so there is no danger for them.

D17 on the left, and DN18 on the right huddle together for warmth and DN17 puts its foot and talons over its younger sibling in a "holding talons" moment. ♥♥ Thank you for watching!
