Tai Lung is the big fan favorite of the series it seems, at least in terms of iconography and hype I see a lot more fans talking about him than Shen or Kai. Then again I'm not apart of said fandom so I don't know that for sure. Regardless, he has a very cool theme that's definitely grown on me over time. His motif is a very simple eight note riff, played on low brass or woodwinds. Accompanying him is a four to five note brass sting that plays during action scenes with him, and both of these work very well to portray him as this violent, unstoppable force. But the duo of Powell and Zimmer also twist this theme to have softer, more empathetic variations with solo flute reprisals or string ensembles, and it helps that his motif is able to portray both his rage and underlying pain so effortlessly. And to add onto it, his theme occasionally includes some throat singing, which is always a brilliant addition to any score to no matter what.
