Just when you thought that repressions, cancel culture, and defamations can't get much worse in Europe, there comes along Germany and shatters even the remaining bit of norms left about the "liberal democracy". On the weekend of April 14, activists and scholars had planned to hold a congress in Berlin to discuss the plight of the Palestinians, but the event was dissolved by special police forces within only 2 hours, some of its speakers were arrested and others were barred from entering Germany, including Yanis Varoufakis, the former Greek finance minister and current greek politician.
