A container ship crashed into a major bridge in Baltimore in the US early on Tuesday, causing it to snap in several places and plunge into the river.
Two people were pulled from the waters under the Francis Scott Key Bridge, with one in a serious condition, Baltimore fire chief James Wallace said.
Several vehicles fell into the river, and rescuers said they were initially searching for at least seven people.
