Mesa County Libraries are celebrating National Volunteer Week, April 17-23. This video features Layne and Sarah, English tutors who volunteer for the Adult Learning Center. We also sit down with Efrian and Daniela, students who are both working to become medical doctors in the states and are learning English as a second language.

The Adult Learning Center engages more than 50 volunteer tutors each year in their programs which include English as a Second Language (ESL), GED and Citizenship. Tutors meet with students of various backgrounds at least once per week. This opportunity is a great way to meet new people and form meaningful relationships. In 2021, 63 volunteers committed more than 2,500 hours to the Adult Learning Center.

Thank you, volunteers, for creating an inviting atmosphere for adults to continue their education.
