Curry Shrimp Doubles

Bara (dough), Curry Chana (chickpeas), Curry Shrimp, Tamarind, Cucumber Chutney, and Pepper sauce.

Huge flavours on this one guys!! Tender well seasoned curried shrimp along side that beautiful Bara and chickpeas. I’m going to be craving this for a long time!!! Save this recipe and try it for yourself at home. Tag us to let us know how you did.

Doubles Dough:

2 cups AP flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp yeast
2 tsp sugar
1 cup warm water
Oil for frying
Oil for stretching

Combine water, sugar and yeast. Allow to rest for 5-10 minutes until foamy. Then combine all dry ingredients well and add yeast mixture. Knead to form a dough and add to a greased bowl, cover and allow to proof until double in size approximately 1 hour to 90minutes.

Curry Shrimp:

1lb cold water shrimp - cleaned and deveined
100ml vegetable oil
1 white onion - diced
4 cloves garlic - chopped
1 large tomato chopped
1 thumb ginger - chopped
1/4 bunch cilantro - chopped
1 scotch bonnet pepper - chopped
1 tablespoon garam masala
1 tablespoon curry powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon green seasoning
1/2 tablespoon salt
