Three stage model rocket initial test flight on June 15, 2020. Due to imbalance caused by off center installation of two on-board cameras and not enough rocket overall aerodynamic stability at flight the flight trajectory quickly turned to side shortly after the rocket cleared the launch pad. Automatic flight system controlled by gyro-vertical immediately interrupted jettison of both side boosters, disconnected air start of second stage and third stage rocket motors and ejected main parachute for emergency landing of all stages.
Rocket size: Length 145 cm, weight at launch 2.10 kg.
There was no damage to the rocket structure during emergency landing however the next flight is only possible after reposition of on-board flight cameras in order to limit off-center imbalance and increase of rocket flight stability by addition of weight in the nose cone to get the center of gravity further ahead from the center of aerodynamic pressure. Slight power increase of rocket motors of side core boosters and common core booster could also be desirable.
