The shooting of Kedarnath movie started on 5th September 2017 and the film was released on 7th December 2018.

Director Abhishek Kapoor had visited Kedarnath five times before he started shooting. The shooting of this film has been done around Uttarakhand, out of which the maximum part of the film has been shot on the hills of Kedarnath and Bhairavnath. Actually Bhairavnath is higher than Kedarnath. The weather there was unpredictable, where shooting was difficult. Apart from this, there were many part suits on the roads leading to Kedarnath temple from Old Ghoda Parav and Garuda Chatti.
