The first phase of UNU-WIDER's Domestic Revenue Mobilization (DRM) programme helped improve tax systems and strengthen domestic capacities for revenue collection in the Global South through seven different projects in 2020–2023. What was achieved? Stories of Change video series shows the transformations these research and capacity development initiatives have been able to catalyse.

In this video Associate Professor Amir Lebdioui (University of Oxford) and Professor Tony Addison (University of Copenhagen, UNU-WIDER) describe how the attitudes of governments towards exploitation of natural resources have changed during recent years, and how Sovereign Wealth Funds (SWFs) can truly serve development in Africa.
