Swades is one of the underrated gems of Indian Cinema. The movie was released back in 2004 and was unable to perform well at the box office. Over time it has gained its fame as being a cult classic. A movie way ahead of its time.

Swades follows the simple story of an NRI who returns to India in search of his childhood nanny but ends up staying in the country instead. It is directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar with Shahrukh Khan, Gayatri Joshi, Dayashankar Pandey and Kishori Ballal. The music is given by A R Rehman and the lyrics are by Javed Akhtar.
