During the 1990s, in Part 1, Prince played a bass called Warwick Thumb. At the beginning of the aughts he played Fender Jazz. You know, like a strawberry, chocolate Fender jazz, mashed potato, fuzztone, all over your thighs. That Fender Jazz. The Ida Nielsen's bass he borrowed on stage starting in 2010 looks like a Fender too. But apparently it's not; it's a Sandberg California VM4. Fun fact: it looks aged, but it's not. It comes pre-battered. The more battered you want it, the more you have to pay. And at Melkweg Prince pulled out his custom-built Auerswald Cleo bass.
