Happy Easter everyone!

Today we witnessed a pretty amazing feat of skill from E23 by claiming a rabbit on the ground by the pond from Dad and then picking it up and flying with it to the DSPS (drive side pond snag) and start to eat it! What is amazing is the skill set that E23 has developed only having fledged 15 days ago! To bring prey to a branch and try and balance on it and eat takes practice and skill. And you always have to be watchful that another predator doesn't try and steal it from you!

M15 is watching E23 on the snag as E23 turns around and is trying to balance with the prey. Smart E23 realizes that it might be better for it to fly to the nest and eat it there - so off E23 goes and lands on the nest with it! Another amazing show of cognitive skill for E23 to safely bring the rabbit to the nest. E23 than eats the rabbit non stop for the next 32 minutes until Dad brings in a whole catfish! E23 claims that food & eats too! E23 has an Easter feast of surf & turf today compliments of Dad. Thank you for watching!
