Are you looking for an affordable way to get from JFK Airport to Downtown New York by public transportation? You have the answer in this video, it is Airtrain and Subway / Metro.

It is ideal if you are traveling alone or in a small group, as it is the most economical or cheapest method to get from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Downtown Manhattan.

In the case of more people, other accounts would have to be made, since the expenses of a taxi, Uber, Lyft or Van can be divided.

In the same JFK terminal look for the Signs that say Airtrain, there you will not have to pay anything. There are two Airtraing options here: Howard Beach or Jamaica Station.
Howard Beach is a good idea for us to take if we go to the southern part of Manhattan. The line that goes to Jamaica Station is more convenient if we go north or to the Times Square area or to the center of Manhattan.
When we get on the Airtrain we don't have to pay anything, all payment is made once we get off and take the Metro.
Then, with the Subway we will reach the heart of Manhattan in approximately an hour in total of trip.
