ISRO successfully launched Aditya-L1, India's first solar mission from Sriharikota Spaceport, on Saturday, September 2. The spacecraft carries seven payloads to study the sun and its impact on space weather in real time. Aditya-L1 will be placed in a halo orbit around Lagrangian Point 1, 1.5 million km from Earth, allowing continuous observation without hindrance from eclipses or occultation. The mission aims to study the physics of solar corona, solar wind acceleration, and solar atmosphere dynamics, among other objectives. The launch will use the XL variant of India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle.
