Do your kids want to understand Black Holes? Now's the perfect time to learn about black holes since the Event Horizon Telescope just got its first picture of M87, the black hole in the galaxy Messier 87.

Our puppet friends Kromp & Leonard talk about how black holes form from dying stars, and what it means for a black hole to be "invisible." We can't take a regular photograph of a black hole, because it absorbs light and no light can escape from the Event Horizon.

So how does the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) work? It's an array of RADIO telescopes networked all around the world, and it's detecting radio waves coming off of the accretion disk, the bright burning disk of dust and gas swirling around M87.

Take a look at the first picture of M87 from the EHT, and Kromp and Leonard will explain what you are looking at!
