The night before the Vs. record got its CD release, Eddie and Jeff went live on air for the call-in rock radio show "Rockline", they were on for about 90 minutes total, talking with the host as well as taking calls from fans to answer questions. Due to youtube's video time limit, this has to be in 5 parts.

You'll recognize some of the parts of Ed speaking in this interview were used in different portions of Cameron Crowe's "Pearl Jam Twenty" documentary. Two other aspects that made this radio show rather special were Eddie giving out his Seattle home phone number live on the air, he wanted to encourage fans to call him at home so he could reach out to as many as possible (this is a practice he repeated again later on during one of the original Monkeywrench Radio broadcasts the band created). I remember even trying to dial once or twice myself back at the time, but as you can imagine, it was near impossible to ever get thru.

The second interesting thing about this radio show is it was toward the end of this interview that Eddie debuted a little acoustic number he'd just recently written, with Jeff on guitar, called "Bee Girl". It was directly inspired by the little girl who starred in the Blind Melon music video for "No Rain" that was in heavy MTV rotation at the time, if you've never seen it she was literally dressed in a little bee outfit. It's a very sweet, beautiful little composition and I believe it got its first official release many years later on the "Lost Dogs" rarities compilation album (the band had played it lives over the years probably no more than about 10 times). You can hear the first ever performance of Bee Girl in the 5th and final section of this interview.
