August 8, 2022: While on a business trip somewhere around Ogden, Utah, I had some time to kill in the hotel. And there are always a number of video ideas that I have that I never have time to make.

This is one.

Back in the early 90's, when I was in college, a good friend of mine, Tom Anderson, told us all "The Blue Bonnet" Joke. Considering we're talking this was roughly 30 years ago, obviously it was memorable.

I've wanted to record a version of it for a long time, and I finally tied all the elements together enough to make a go at it.

I'm not happy with the camera angle, but the little suction-cup tripod I had wouldn't suction enough to hold the phone. So the phone was just resting on the piece of furniture that held the fridge and microwave at the La Quinta.

But I am happy with how I delivered the joke. I hope you are too--and I hope I did Tom proud.

Also...not to give too much away, but at the end of this, you may be tempted to send this to your friends. Especially on April 1. That's all I'm saying. Don't be mad at me. Or Tom. Or whoever came up with it. This joke needed to be preserved for all history. Thanks for being a part of it.

Oh and if this exists using something other than "Blue Bonnet" or it's a well known joke, please let me know in the comments. I've never seen it anywhere else, and would love to see other versions.
