Kirollus is the next artist to feature in our DJ Mag Originals series, Crate Diggin’. In the series, in which we take some of the world’s biggest DJs record shopping, we take a deep dive into the artist’s individual music tastes, through both contemporary and historical releases.

In the latest episode of Crate Diggin’, Brighton DJ and Defected mainstay Kirollus takes DJ Mag record shopping at Rarekind Records in Brighton, sifting through boogie, funk and disco wax, and spinning records on the Pioneer DJ PLX-1000.

He shares stories about his early days collecting hip-hop and G-funk, digging at record fairs, the importance of sharing music, and building his vinyl collection.

Previous episodes of Crate Diggin’ have featured previous DJ Mag cover star DJ Bone at SeaWolf records in Amsterdam, French DJ and producer Folamour at Chez Emile Records in his hometown of Lyon, Anja Schneider at Berlin’s Melting Point Records, Kristina Records with Anastasia Kristensen, NUT Records with Andres Campo, Bikini Waxx with Sally and Bloody Mary on a trip to the iconic Spacehall Berlin record store.
