The DeLorean teamed up with Engine No. 131 for the first time during the Great Train Show at the Orange County Fairgrounds thanks to Jim Kruger and Ted Gird. For three days in early February hundreds of model train enthusiasts were entertained watching the attempt to reach 88 mph during "a science experiment." After the show the locomotive and time machine were displayed in a place of honor in a custom built bookshelf cabinet that Ted made to support the Hudson. I refuse to allow it to be retired as a shelf queen and took it out for a run on it's home track. I am extremely grateful to Jim and Ted for all the work they put into making the iconic replicas. During the recent Orange County Garden Railway Society meeting they were each awarded a 1:18 scale DeLorean from the movie Back To The Future 3 along with DVD's of the movie trilogy and a couple of REALLY GOOD beers from ESCAPE to consume while watching the films.
