Sonpathri is a picnic spot near India-Nepal border and lies in Sravasti district in the Uttar Pradesh state of India, it is famous for small waterfalls and landscapes formed due to erosion caused by the river, it is located on the valley basin of a small seasonal river which is locally known as Sona river, this area is also densely covered with thorny trees as it is a part of a forest system, during monsoon season this area is nearly unreachable due to overflow of rivers tributes in jungle and as a result of that most of the nearby area remain flooded during this time. The most appropriate time for a visit is autumn. Its latitudes and longitudes are 27°51'42.9"N 82°09'17.1"E.
