Manigotagan (Manitoba) River Canoe Trip 2009 July 11 Donna Kurt running Elbow Rapids solo in 16' tandem canoe, filmed from River Left. I stuck to River Left on this run and demo'd a decent eddy turn. Normally this rapid has a fair number of rocks to dodge and a couple small ledges. The river was at the highest flow I've seen in 8 trips; most of the rapids were washed out or had lots of rollers. I was accompanied by my nephew Matt and friends Frank, Kathy, Lorne, Ruth and Jared. We had great weather and ran a lot of rapids with no incidents aside from one kayak capsize rescue at Elbow Rapids. The trip took us 3.5 days and was a lot of fun with great weather although there were many mosquitoes in the evenings.
