So now that the famous Stairway to Heaven, or Haiku Stairs, hike is being removed, I wanted to share my experience on the hike, as well as my thoughts on whether its removal is a good idea. I know a lot of people enjoy the view at the top, but having done the hike, I've always told others it's not worth it. But seeing as people will probably continue doing the hike from the Moanalua Valley side, maybe the City and/or State can come up with a good solution to ensure that would-be hikers are safe.
